Sherry Stone, Art Clay Silver Senior Instructor

What does senior instructor mean to you as a student?

You are being taught by an instructor that has been trained by and tested for the highest level of instruction offered by Art Clay USA.  I have completed intensive (and expensive) training classes taught by Art Clay USA certified instructors.

My Level I Certification was obtained by Master Dana Peters the summer of 2007.  During those days of intensive instruction, I created a number of pieces of jewelry under the watchful eye of my instructor.  When deemed acceptable, I was provided with my completion certificate.

The next year, I devoted to developing and perfecting my skills.  I then tested under Coleen Lee (a sensational metal clay artesan) to complete my Level II training.  This  four day class required hours of work, and many, many grams of clay.  Bless Colleen Lee for teaching me how to obtain that fabulous mirror finish.  Take a look at Silver Art Stuido's website and admire the work of Colleen Lee.

Lastly, following the Level II training, I had to design, fabricate (to very strict guidelines and specifications) three pieces of jewelry that are sent to the Art Clay World USA office in Chicago, Illinois to be juried by the president of the company (Jackie Truty) and other qualified staff members at the Art Clay USA headquarters.   After they are juried by Art Clay USA's headquarters, I was provided with my Art Clay Silver Senior Certificate.

You are getting an individual that has achieved the higest levels of training available by Art Clay World USA.  I truly aspire to share what I have learned with you!

Now, beyond metal clay, I have developed a passion for the fiber arts.  I am now teaching wet and needle felting, Russian punch needle art and locker hooking.  PaperSilverStone, LLC is carrying natural and hand-dyed alpaca and wool fibers.

Most recently, I have developed another passion for Friendly Plastic.  Being taught by some of AMACO's leading professionals (Jana Ewy of Las Vegas and Liz Welch of the UK), I was unable to stop myself.  PaperSilverStone, LLC is now carrying a full line of Friendly Plastic and classes are being developed.
